Video Samples from Panasonic’s Lumix DMC-GH1
Panasonic Lumix GH1. First footage from Philip Bloom on Vimeo.
Blogger and filmmaker Philip Bloom has posted some initial thoughts, sample frame grabs, and the above video from the Panasonic DMC-GH1.
The image out of the camera is utterly terrific, so clean and noise free. Also very sharp. It’s a dream to use operational wise and the auto functions make it even better. I am never a fan of auto but when running and gunning it can be useful. When I shoot some stuff later this week on it using a tripod and better lenses I am sure it will be incredible.

The video quality does look pretty good, and from my point of view (the Canon 5D Mark II point of view), AF while filming would be a godsend.

You’ll definitely want to click through to Vimeo for the full-res version by the way. (Look for interesting rig for the 5D2).
