The Canon EOS 50D made some noticeable improvements to the Canon 40D, including a 15.1 megapixel sensor, an increase in ISO sensitivity, 920k 3 inch LCD, and DIGIC 4 processing. In a review at Photography Bay, Eric is somewhat discouraged by the ongoing megapixel race, but still IQ, and the increased ISO sensitivity get a [...]

Canon has released a firmware update for the EOS 50D that addresses the “err99″ message that has been the topic of some discussion on the “forums”. From Canon…

It’s a two for one.
Image samples from the new Canon EOS 50D paired with the Canon EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS can be see here. As with the DPR 50D samples the other day, I’m pretty sure these are with pre-production firmware so keep that in mind…
I think the EF-S 18-200mm is doing an admirable job [...]

I’ve been waiting to see these, and DPR has finally got them up here…
I can see the 15 megapixels is bringing home lots of detail, and high ISO image quality is quite good, judging by the few here. I’ll point out that ISO 6400 had some noticeable banding, but 1600 is just totally usable. I [...]
