Camera Labs has an ISO IQ comparison up between the Nikon D700, the D300 and the Canon 5D. No suprises really, the D700 has visible detail advantages begining at just ISO 200. With the advent of full frame sensors in the upper echelon of DSLR has anyone else noted the intense desire amongst the non-professionals to acquire its “magical powers”? I would argue that full frame may be even usurping megapixels in terms of desire for most of us enthusiasts.

One of the reasons I’ve craved a Canon 5d for so long, and now of course the Nikon D3, is their “advantage” of full frame sensors. The advantage of the sensor isn’t just not having to deal with crop factors, no the real advantage is the ability to (all things being equal) take better pictures. [...]
