According to Nphoto.net the successor the Canon EOS 5D (or at least one of them) will be called the EOS 7D. They say:

According to Kamera&Bild, Canon is set to announce new EOS products on August 26th. Expected to be announced would be the replacement to the 5D, most likely the 7D or 5D mark II (or 3D or who knows). Translated:
