Sony A380 Review at Digital Photography Review (DPR)
The positively lackluster Sony A380 continues to uninspire in a review at DPR:
However, while today, approximately 18 months later, the A380 comes with a specification that is very similar to the A350 (and in some areas even slightly downgraded) all of the competitors in the entry-level segment have inevitably moved on and not only caught up with the Sony but overtaken it quite clearly.
-DPR
While I suppose it is an entirely competent camera, and surely better than any compact or superzoom type camera in image quality, there’s absolutely no reason to prefer the A380 over the competition. Sure, it has a great live view capability (though even that is handicapped), but I can’t imagine that being enough.
