Sigma DP2 Has Arrived: Testing Commences
The Sigma DP2 has arrived, and we’ve even managed to get out into the field with it despite being swamped with photoshoot edits for a client. I’ll have some initial thoughts very soon though, but I did manage to set up the 5D Mark II to capture the unboxing (see below). The camera is spartan in design, a black on black affair with some textured areas for grip. Free of any exterior extravagances, the DP2 is even shy about it’s own name, you’d easily look right over the small “DP2″ badging on the top of the camera. Build quality is very good, it’s a solid little black box, and though relatively small in size, the lens projection might keep this one out of your front pocket. The camera strap is an around the neck type, a wrist strap just wouldn’t be right for this guy. It came with the 1.01 firmware already installed, and I’ve got the Sigma Photo Pro software already installed. There’s just the simple matter of charging the battery, then your off…
