Rumor: Nikon D400 Arrival is Imminent
If you add one and one and one together, you might be inclined to assume that a Nikon D400 will be announced prior to or at this years PMA. This sounds pretty reasonable to me. As for specifications, well that hasn’t quite been agreed upon in the world of internet rumors, though if I was taking a stab at things, I’d use the Canon EOS 50D as a starting point:
- 15 megapixels
- 6 FPS
- 51 point AF
- ISO up to 6400 with boost to 12,800 (and expect that ISO 6400 to be usable)
- Video: given the 5D2, 1080p with microphone input, HDMI out obviously
This leaves the LCD, the D300 has the 3 inch high res version now found on the D90, D700, D3, D3x. Is this a place for possible “improvement”? A 3.5″ LCD perhaps? I’d say no, given size constraints, but generally some new feature is added on the lower-end cameras that isn’t found on the higher end.
Got a better guess? Let’s see ‘em in the comments.
