Take a look at Phil Askey’s (he of Digital Photography Review fame) flickr and you’ll find some nice vacation photos taken with the new Panasonic LX3. First you’ll be impressed by the vacation locale itself (Mauritius), then you’ll be impressed with the IQ from the LX3. I just love the wide angle format of the camera, as it just forces you into very interesting compositions, even from a snapshot point of view. I’m pretty much sold on LX3, but feel like I have to wait for what Canon offers in the G10.

One more thought…

One can assume that a DPR review of the LX3 might be forthcoming based on this evidence. Hopefully not 8 months from now (see Canon 1Ds Mark III)
