From the forums at DPR, Czech site www.photorevue.cz says the Pentax announcement expected jan. 24 will be the “bomb”.
“You have what to look for, it is a BOMB”
Update: Yesterday in Dubai, reporters got an inside look at the latest DSLR offerings from Pentax, which are widely assumed to be the K20D and the K200D. The reporters attending all are under embargo until January 24, so that leads to nearly 2 weeks of rampant speculation. As of right now, the consensus says that the K20D will be a 14 megapixel camera, with ISO 3200, 2.7 inch LCD with live view, moderate weather proofing, anti-dust sensor, and advanced image stabilization at an estimated cost of $1400. The latest rumors center around added features such as a 16×9 frame format (not portrait friendly, but could be internally cropped), and even more “bomb” like, the ability to shoot HD video. A 14 megapixel camera with the ability to shoot 1080p or even 720p, would be a show stealer for Pentax, but unfortunately we have to wait 13 more days to find out just what the “bomb” is.
