Pentax K-7 Review at Luminous Landscape: “Fails to Light Fires”
Oft the subject of warmer reviews, the Pentax K-7 is analyzed in Michael Reichmann’s hands on report at Luminous Landscape. While I won’t say he doesn’t like the camera, it’s more that the K-7 (for him) doesn’t offer any “USP”. The explanation:
But therein lies its failing in my eyes. The camera isn’t compelling for any reason. In marketing terms it doesn’t appear to offer a USP (Unique Selling Proposition). Almost every aspect of the camera is competent, and there are only a few failings. But it also doesn’t really excel at anything. It isn’t the fastest, the sharpest, the highest resolution, the smallest, the lightest, the fastest focusing, or have the fastest frames rates.

I’d argue that it offers a competitive spec sheet in a compact size that allows for the use of some very nice, and small Pentax lenses, but still always good to take in all sides when making a decision.
