Pentacom’s Analog Color: Adds Polaroid Styling to Your Photos

Pentacom has a very tiny, java based application that recreates the look of polaroid pictures and/or toy cameras to any JPEG image. Similar to Poladroid, but with more extensive and better options, simply drop your JPEG of choice on the application, move a few sliders, choose border or no border, and presto! Instant polaroid. Results are pretty fast, and it’s a free trial (adds watermark) or buy for $9 U.S.

Below, and example busted out in a couple of seconds. Interesting, horrible, time waster, you be the judge.

I bought this but didn’t receive a license key via email (I got a PayPal receipt only). Did you buy it? Any idea of the process to get this activated?

Update… it’s not an automated key system. A (very friendly) person mailed me the key a few hours later.

The results from this great little app are far more authentic-looking than any analog presets I’ve found for Lightroom, or Poladroid for that matter (which is not bad in itself.) The most fun option is Randomize; keep clicking until you get a look you like, then check/uncheck the light leak box for random overlays of that effect on top of the Polaroid filter. Easily worth $10, at least until actual Polaroid film is revived (they’re working on it, but apparently recreating the formula is very complicated.)

  3. how do u even open it after u downloaded it?
