Olympus E-30 Review: DCI Brings It Back Down To Earth
We’ve mentioned the E-30 is a good camera before, but a bit on the high side when it comes to the price tag. Over at Digital Camera Info there’s a not so friendly reminder about “the competion” and they include some familiar names:
Considering that a Nikon D90 costs significantly less than the E-30, and for only a little more you could pick up the Canon 50D (or Olympus E-3 if you’re a company supporter), we have to recommend that you purchase one of these due to their significantly better overall performance in our tests.
-Digital Camera Info
There’s a heavy emphasis on lab-based tests, and the smaller sensor in the E-30 is always going to lose an ISO battle against let’s say, a Nikon D90, but I suspect there’s a fun-factor involved in the E-30 that outweighs the “lab tests”.
