Olympus E-30 Preview
Competing against the likes of the Nikon D90 and Canon 50D, the Olympus E-30 is a 12.3 megapixel 4/3 sensor digital slr camera, with an 11 point AF, a 2.7 inch flip out LCD, and an improved live view function. Smaller in size than the E-3, Olympus has still tried hard to pack a lot of the E-3’s performance in the E-30, and in some regards the newer E-30 even improves on the E-3. Digital Camera Review has posted their initial thoughts on the new Olympus:
Olympus also claims to have improved the E-30’s live view system – namely in the arena of contrast-detection AF, which allows you to focus in live view mode without blacking out the preview to do it. Shooting a few initial tests outdoors yesterday afternoon, I was impressed with how much faster the new system feels when combined with the reworked 14-54mm lens.

We’re big fans of the E-3, so we’ll be watching for the full review of the E-30. In the meantime get the preview here.
