Nikon vs. Canon - Harrington style.

by Patrick on December 10, 2007

A great little mini- shootout between the two flagships with examples to boot! The ISO performance of both cameras is just stunning. While I think one should take the “results” with a grain of salt, can you go wrong with either camera? Of interest to me, and probably quite a few others is the issue of resolution in this case its Canon’s 22 vs. Nikon’s 12, but just generically speaking, would a typical DSLR user be “missing” anything at 12? Harrington says:

These results, for me, essentially kill the megapixel issue for me. Size, with the proper chip and internal camera processing software, is no longer a comparison point for me. I’m sure we’d have problems if there was noise at the ISO’s I need, because enlargement would yield more noise, but since that’s not a concern, it’s amazing what a 12.1MP camera can look like when compared to a 22MP camera.
