Nikon D3x: Long Exposure Noise is “Perfectly Clean”
Yes it does cost $8000, but the Nikon D3x is the best DSLR available today, right? I’ll assume we all said yes so moving on, what in the world are you getting for $8000 that you couldn’t get from a $2700 Canon EOS 5D Mark II? The answer seems pretty simple, impeccable image quality, via diglloyd.com:
images from the D3x seemed exceptionally well “anchored”, with dark tones looking pure, matching real life better than I’d ever seen with a DSLR. This came not long after my experience with the Mamiya DL28 medium format system, and my initial reaction was that the D3x behaved more like the DL28 than a DSLR!

Diglloyd.com offers (arghhh!) paid reviews, but does post up some teasers to peak your interest, in this case with a couple of articles on long exposure noise (there isn’t any!) and perfectly clean blacks. Unfortunately, these come in the form of comparisons with the Canon EOS 5D Mark II so don’t read if your feelings are easily hurt.
You can get the Nikon D3x now at Amazon or here at B&H Photo.
