Updated:Nikon D3x, 24 megapixel Digital SLR Camera in February?
Hoping to see Nikon’s high resolution version of the D3 at this year’s Photokina? Prepare yourself for possible disappointment if this ad in Rangefinder Magazine is to be believed. It mentions that something “BIG” is coming to the WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographer International), big enough for Nikon to reserve the MGM Grand Arena. Here’s the copy:
Something BIG is coming to WPPI this year. Something SO BIG we can’t even tell you what it is. How BIG? BIG enough for WPPI and Nikon to reserve the world class MGM Grand Arena! You can’t afford to miss what WPPI and Nikon have in store for February 2009. We really shouldn’t say any more, but we will. Next month!
The only thing that fits the “big” bill for me is the D3x. I still don’t buy the “rangefinder from Nikon”, yet, but we know the D3x exists because we’ve seen it pop in the D3 firmware, so that’s my guess.
There is one other possibility though that comes to mind…large(er) format Nikon?
And finally, notice they’ll have “more” to say next month.
