Nikon D3000 Review at Photography Bay
The Nikon D3000 represents the bare bones path to procuring excellent DSLR results and capabilities at a very affordable price. The folks at Photography Bay have reviewed the D3000 and find it will indeed provide the first time DSLR consumer with more than adequate results:
As noted above, the D3000 uses those 10.2 megapixels quite efficiently. As with the performance, the D3000’s final image output never really disappointed me. Think about the prints you’ll be making with this camera. How big will you make them? An 8×10? Easy. What about 16×20? I didn’t print any this large, but I’ve inspected the files up close and would do it for my own family pics without any concern. Chances are, if you are looking for a DSLR just to get better quality out of your day-to-day shots, the D3000 is going to overwhelmingly provide you with the image quality you’ll need.

This camera really just gives you the basics, with some light hand-holding, but that’s not bad at all for somebody looking to move up to the world that is DSLR cameras.
