Nikon Coolpix S630 Digital Compact Camera Review at DPInterface
DPInterface reviews the Nikon Coolpix S630, a 12 megapixel digital compact camera with a 7x zoom lens and 2.7 inch LCD display:
The only good things about the Nikon Coolpix S630 were low distortion and no redeye, but in all other respects, the camera produced below average image quality. It’s such a pity, considering the camera has a decent feature set, the S630 is let down by its image quality.
Yep. I was kind of thinking one of the qualities I like in a camera the most is the “image” quality. That’s too bad.
Another thought: Why can’t Nikon get its act together on the compact side of things…just strange.

Yes, it really is strange. Two years ago or so, I bought the Nikon P-4 I think it was called, it was one of the very first compacts with image stabilization. And the image quality just sucked! So strange. Canon’s compacts on the other hand, even the smallest ones, have *awesome* image quality.
Over an entire range of compacts Nikon isn’t leading the rest in a single camera, instead it’s constantly Canon/Panasonic. I just don’t get that.
