More Pictures from the Pentax K20D surface. Resolution and noise levels impressive
In both the pentaxforums.com and DPR’s Pentax SLR forum, 2 pictures claimed to have been pulled from a Pentax K20D using beta firmware have surfaced, one being a shot at 100 ISO the other at 3200 ISO.
The ISO 100 shoot is showing some very impressive detail and overall resolution does look on par with something like Nikon D300. The high ISO shot is also very good, with noise levels looking quite acceptable to me, definitely a film-like grain. It also points to a real possiblility of a ISO 6400 with boost option…
Also if this is beta firmware and shot raw/dng and converted in CS3 which clearly hasn’t been optimized for the new Pentax sensor, then these shots are even more impressive. Without a doubt the K20D will have usable ISO 1600 at the minimum, and maybe more! If the price comes in around $1300-1400, it will be hard to ignore.
Update: 2 more shots from a spanish forum have shown up here.
