Thanks, I’ve just spent a half hour updating aaaaall my Pana bodies and lenses. (Well, I guess I actually have all… no, I don’t have the GH1. Ah well.) The super-wide zoom might be interesting.
I love the feel and speed of the G1 with the 20mm lens, for street photography. I want to do more of that.
You’re welcome. I’d love to use the 20mm, I’m playing with the E-P1 and the 17mm 2.8 as of late, can’t complain much, in fact I’m quite liking the combo, but Mike at TOP’s got me wondering about the 20mm. I hear good things. Maybe I’ll see soon…
Mike, like the other Mike at Luminous, will let his enthusiasms run away with him. But the 20mm is indeed a very good lens. It’s as perfect as lenses thrice its size and price. Even fully open it’s very sharp. And it even has nice bokeh.
Eolake,
Sorry, I missed these comments somehow…the 20mm does sound quite good, I just can’t seem to get my hands on a GF1 yet.
… I guess about the only downsides are things like no scales on it, and that it’s not quite as quiet focusing as the zooms. But nothing you’d normally notice except in dead quiet rooms.
Yes, it seems I got lucky with that, due to my sometimes extreme early-adopter mindset.
I have some thoughts on zooms/primes here.
