Panasonic has released a firmware update for the Panasonic DMC-LX3, which improves or adds the following:

Compatibility update for the DMW-FL220 flash unit.
Improved auto white balance performance.
Improved auto focus performance.

Peter Lück has a some nice image comparisons between the Canon Powershot G10 and the Panasonic LX3. All things being equal, a nice demonstration that yes the G10’s sensor resolution does indeed make a difference. The set is available here.
