Canon SD880 Review: Rockwell Says Forget G10
Ok, he didn’t say forget the G10, but in a review of the Canon SD880, Ken Rockwell does spend some time comparing the two cameras. The Canon SD880 weighs in at 10 megapixels, with a 4x zoom (28mm on the wide side of things), 3″ LCD, and DIGIC IV processing, and Rockwell finds it handles better than the G10, it’s faster, smaller, with more tactile and easier to access buttons. On the IQ:
Image quality is the same between the SD880 and G10. Go shoot them against each other yourself, and if you control everything properly, you won’t be able to tell which image came from which camera.
The G10 looks tough on the outside, but the inside is the same stuff as every other Canon compact Powershot.
He goes on to say he’d take the Canon SD880 everywhere, saving the G10 for special trips where no other photographic equipment is taken. I’d gather Rockwell is quite smitten with the SD880, and you’ll want to checkout his opinions in the features section of the review, which you can get here.
The Canon SD880 is available here at Amazon and here from B and H Photo Video.
