Canon Powershot A1000 Review
The Canon Powershot A1000 features a 10 megapixel sensor, 2.5 inch LCD, built in image stabilization, while running on 2 AA batteries. Designed for the casual photographer, the A1000 sports an easy shooting mode, where all decisions are made by the camera, and a movie mode. For optics the A1000 uses a 4x zoom lens equivalent to 35-140mm. Image quality is good overall, but photographers seeking more control might want to look elsewhere. On that note, the Canon Powershot A1000 gets reviewed today at Digital Camera Review:
I’ve heard a number of folks say that Canon digicams are boring – they’re easy to use, they’re relatively cheap, dependably produce decent to exceptional pictures in most lighting, but they are not exciting. So what? Where it really counts (in the image quality department) Canon digicams delivers the goods. Outdoors in good light (at sensitivity settings below ISO 400) the A1000 IS produces dependably well exposed almost noise free images with hue accurate (if slightly oversaturated) colors and somewhat harder than average contrast.
