Canon G10 vs. Panasonic LX3 vs. Nikon P6000
Thom takes on the ultra-compact cameras, and posts his findings here. The Nikon P6000 gets discounted pretty earlier on, so it pretty much comes down to some individual preferences between the Panasonic LX3 and the Canon G10. The LX3 is somewhat more photographer-centric, and the G10 is a bit more photography friendly. Does that seem contradictory? Maybe a bit. But what I mean is that the LX3 seems to offer everything the serious photographer would be interested in: wide angle, fast lens, small form factor, and a more reasonable megapixel count. The G10’s lens offers way more versatility than the LX3, and extra megapixels translate to slightly more resolution than the LX3, and thus might result in better and more pictures.
Deciding which camera to buy though is as always going to boil down to a serious analysis of just how and what you photograph.
In the meantime, check out Thom’s comparison.
