Canon EOS 5D Mark II as Video Camera
Videographer Chris Sanderson was part of that Luminous Landscape expedition to Antarctica and took along a 5D Mark II to use for its video feature. His opinion is essentially that the 5D Mark II isn’t quite ready for prime time. Also his was one of the 5D2’s that failed due to weather, possibly skewing his opinion even further.
Read his take here.
My take, the video is amazing, but editing the video is real pain! I’m taking some classes now on Final Cut Pro, and Apple Color, but the conversion to ProRes and the resulting file sizes are challenging, at least on this Macbook Pro.
