Canon EOS 50D Review at Photography Bay
The Canon EOS 50D made some noticeable improvements to the Canon 40D, including a 15.1 megapixel sensor, an increase in ISO sensitivity, 920k 3 inch LCD, and DIGIC 4 processing. In a review at Photography Bay, Eric is somewhat discouraged by the ongoing megapixel race, but still IQ, and the increased ISO sensitivity get a thumbs up:
Additionally, as noted above, the increased sensitivity is very welcomed on the 50D – to a limit. Again, the ISO 12800 (or H2) setting simply goes too far. Generally speaking though, ISO 3200 and below produces very usable images. Combine this with a large aperture lens and you’ve got a stellar combo for available-light shots.
