Canon 50D Digital SLR Camera Will Compete Directly Against the Nikon D300 on Aug. 26
Just to update that previous post on the Canon 50D. I contacted the source mentioned, and while he can’t give specifics on the 50D, he does mention:
…the noise and image quality should be right in line with the D300 as this camera was intended specifically to compete with the D300. It will be announced on the 26th of this month.
It will be pretty exciting if the 50D does go toe to toe with the D300, especially in that ISO category (lots of folks worried about the 15 megapixels, but that does not mean poor ISO/noise management per se), but we’ll have to wait till Tuesday to find out (bound to be previews that day),
