Apple Releases New Macbooks, 24 Inch LED Display
Apple has released updated versions of the Macbook Pro, Macbook, and a new LED 24 inch display. There is now an unmistakable theme running through the entire Apple prodcut line, with the black iMac bezel being prominent throughout. Most relevant to photographers, the Macbook Pro features:
- Design milled from single piece of aluminum
- New brighter LED display
- New NVIDIA GeForce 9400M or NVIDIA 9600M GT graphic cards
- Glass multi-touch trackpad
- Firewire 800 port (400 is so yesterday)
- Processors in 2.4, 2.53, and 2.8 GHz varieties
Terry White has more here.
and Jason Snell at Macworld breaks it all down.
Anyone else notice that Apples’s most notable ability is to instill desire for their newest product (regardless of need?)

You’re not kidding. I have the “AirBook”, even though I only use it for surfing on the couch!
Thanks, the MacWorld article is great.
You’re certainly welcome. One additional thing Apple has done has been to come up with designs that hold up over time a little longer. My macbook pro, and my original iPhone still look pretty sharp.
On the other hand the old school candy colored iMacs, not so hot.
