24 Days to go till 2008 PMA, Sony A200 official, Nikon D60, Nikon D90, and the Canon 5d Mark II waiting in the wings

by Patrick on January 7, 2008

Sony’s newly announced A200One rumor down, countless to go. Today we got the most unexciting of the DSLR rumors substantiated with the announcement of the A200. By all accounts it is a minor upgrade to the A100, with some minor feature set upgrades, and some improvements to usablity. The only exciting news is clearly the price. This has to be one of the best bargains available for an entry level DSLR. Still I find myself longing most for news on a Nikon D80 replacement (AKA Nikon D90) which in my mind will surely be a 12 mp baby D300, with improved af system, better iso performance, and live view. If I don’t get that, I’d better get a Canon 5d replacement, which had better be borrowing a whole lot from the 1Ds Mark III including some of those megapixels. Well, at least there’s 24 days to go…
